Katrina, Founder & Director

Katrina

Founder & Director

Founder of Strength in Fragments, helping shape the organisation through lived experience, creativity and a commitment to accessible, Deaf-led support.

What I Look After

  • · Guiding the vision and future direction of Strength in Fragments.
  • · Championing Deaf-led, accessible and inclusive practice across everything we do.
  • · Leading wellbeing and organisational development.
  • · Building relationships with partners, funders and our wider community.
  • · Encouraging creativity, collaboration and compassionate support throughout our work.

A Little More About Me

I recharge through adventures big and small: travelling, Reformer Pilates, and time on the SUP. Photography keeps me curious, and tsundoku means my home is full of beautiful books waiting patiently for their moment. Joy, movement and a good story are my favourite ingredients.

I believe small moments of kindness, connection and creativity can make a meaningful difference, especially during life's more challenging times.

Proud Yorkshire lass. I have worked in the Deaf community throughout my career and know what it is like to see Deaf people going through difficult times.

Padel, pickleball, holidays and travelling make me happy — and I love family time too.

What Brings Us Together

Although we each bring different experiences and strengths, we share the same commitment to creating accessible, compassionate and welcoming spaces for our community.

  • Accessibility First

We believe communication should never be a barrier. British Sign Language (BSL) is welcome throughout our work.

  • Kindness Always

We aim to create welcoming spaces where everyone feels respected, valued and heard.

  • Wellbeing Matters

Supporting emotional wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.

  • Community Before Organisation

Relationships come first. We grow through listening, collaboration and shared experiences.

  • Creativity With Purpose

We use creativity to inspire connection, reflection and hope.

  • Inclusion For Everyone

We strive to create spaces where people from all backgrounds feel they belong.

Looking Ahead

Strength in Fragments is still growing, and we look forward to welcoming volunteers, creatives, British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters and community partners who share our vision. As our organisation evolves, so will the people who help shape it.

Strength in Fragments may feature artists, creatives, volunteers and partner organisations who have contributed to our work. Inclusion is at our discretion and is intended to celebrate collaboration rather than provide commercial advertising.
